Laura is a licensed attorney in the State of Oklahoma, the United States Federal District Court for the Eastern District of Oklahoma and has been admitted to the Choctaw Nation Courts. Her main areas of practice include divorce, child custody, bankruptcy, and criminal law.
A native of Poteau, Laura graduated from Poteau High School then attended The University of Oklahoma. While studying at OU, Laura was involved in the National Society of Collegiate Scholars, Habitat for Humanity, was named to both the Dean’s List and the President’s Honor Roll, as well as being named to Alpha Lambda Delta her freshman year. Laura was also a member of the Gamma Phi Beta sorority. In addition, Laura had the privilege of studying abroad in St. Petersburg, Russia, at the Nevsky Institute of Language. By her junior year, Laura had the special distinction of being named to America’s most prestigious Honor Society, Phi Beta Kappa. Laura graduated OU with a Bachelor of Arts in Letters and a Bachelor of Arts in Russian, with the special honor of summa cum laude.
Laura received her Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law. While studying there, Laura was involved in United Students and the Organization for Advancement of Women in the Law. Laura also participated in the OU Law Summer Program at Oxford University in Oxford, England.
Since graduating from OU Law, Laura has practiced at Legal Aid Services of Oklahoma, Inc. in Oklahoma City, Private Practice, and McLaughlin Law Firm, PLLC.
Laura enjoys spending time with her family, her elderly pug dog, Betty, and being back in beautiful Southeastern Oklahoma.
